Sadly, we've bought into this type of teaching the ancient saints and text never meant nor intended... Our modern western perspective has us waiting passively to be "rescued" by teaching us an “Apocalypse” as a future spectacle to avoid the responsibility of being the sovereign, independent people they were called to be in the present. It is a distraction from the reality that the King is already on the throne and has already delegated authority to His people to build, occupy, and thrive in His likeness.

I used to think and believe like yourself, and I'm realizing much of what we have been taught to believe is actually different than what the text actually says. We read into the text what we have been taught and most of us have been taught according to a modern western mind and perspective.

No, he shouldn't make it super clear, that's your assumption and it's an entitlement. Scripture has made it abundantly clear that Jesus is God... Denying it based on your entitlement doesn't change the fact that Messiah is ruling now as God and King. Those who don't believe are not in the Kingdom. Those who believe and love each other are residents and heirs of the King.

Wow... This is a really interesting video and I am really enjoying this channel... I'll briefly explain some context. I have been in one of the most challenging seasons of my life... One of the most confusing seasons of my life... I have been asking God desperately to reveal Himself to me and to help me understand Him and His ways. I have suspected with increasing intensity and conviction that my 21 century Western understanding and application of his ancient truths and scriptures are just not doing it for me anymore. And I don't mean that selfishly. Rather, I mean I could just tell something is not right. And that there are things about Him and His ways that I thought I had an understanding for, I'm being challenged in. And I don't mean like I'm just getting it wrong because I'm performing badly...nothing like that necessarily... But that what I have been taught and indoctrinated with seems incongruent more and more so with what He actually has to say for Himself. I'm not sure if I'm articulating this well. Let me try and put it another way. An increasing desire and ambition of mine is to understand my Christian beliefs in a new way... And more specifically, in the way other Christians understand their Christian beliefs, more specifically that being according to the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church's tradition (EOTC). Why? Well, because I was introduced to their tradition and Bible over the last few years (as well as the Septuagint in the Dead Sea Scrolls ) and am finding much of it taken sincerely challenges my Western/Protestant upbringing. Which is further compounded by the fact that I am a twenty-first century contemporary with a modern mind and attitude that I recognize is much different than an ancient Near Eastern mind and attitude. So recently I decided to prayerfully try and find some English speaking or English captioned EOTC teaching and or sermons on YT.
