A lot of media outlets are suddenly riding the Jayden Crawford @Jaydenishim wave especially a few I know personally. But let’s be real: y’all weren’t tweeting about him the last couple of years. I’ve been saying for years that Jayden is one of the top guards in his class. The real issue? Many of you didn’t want to give him the spotlight because of the school he played for. I’ve always said Powerhouse or not, talent is talent. Here’s the problem: too many of you tweet for retweets and reposts, not because you’re actually in the gym watching. This is exactly why I don’t respect some of these platforms you’re chasing clout, not highlighting players for the right reasons. It’s supposed to be about the athletes, not the school name or hype. That said, there are a few of you I truly respect you’ve been consistent, and I see the work. But for the rest, reposting highlights from social media like you were there in person? That’s not journalism. That’s lazy, and it lacks integrity. Jay, congratulations on all your success! I told you years ago they’d come around—just keep putting in that work and staying locked in.
