I’ll go ahead and say it: I think Jalen Brunson is going to struggle against the Spurs defense. We just saw them suffocate the two-time MVP with their size, length, switch-ability and intensity. Granted the playing field is different and I think the Knicks provide more from a ball handling and self-creation standpoint which can free him up, but I think the principles still remain. Adding the Wemby factor too, as someone who alters shot attempts with his presence, Brunson’s super power in generating high quality looks against length may also be subdued. I anticipate the sheer amount of work he’ll have to do individually for offense will be incredibly demanding.
