If #1 vs #2 in late March can’t be on television than might as well make this a club sport all around. What an absolute embarrassment for the sport if this goes without a stream. We should be asking how to get this on national tv, not how do we get a stream. Truly embarrassing.
Kevin Brown@kevbrown89

As of now, NO ONE has picked up the No. 1 Notre Dame vs. No. 2 Richmond matchup in Evanston... Because it's at Northwestern (who uses Big Ten Network and neither ND/Richmond are Big Ten programs) no broadcaster/streaming service has yet to pick this neutral-site game up.

The topic that set #LaxTwitter ablaze. 😬 @TerenceFoy reported that several sources said Booker Corrigan DID NOT make the actual call on the field. On-field officials made the call after reviewing film on an iPad at the scorers table, which was later confirmed.

@CSE_Net @College_Crosse @fieldystick @AaronYeagher $5k to produce - let’s double it for fun and throw in $5k for travel. Thats still only $15k. You said your price is based on $25-35k production. So where is the rest of the money going? Additionally, 1000 streams at $5 is a lot more revenue than 100 at $16

The Corrigan games are just ridiculous. I get it, they gotta make $, but this doesn't serve the fans. B1G+ is probably overpriced, but you get all the games. ESPN+ a good deal and most teams are all on there. We're really close to having it sorted. But then there's this stuff.
Michael Cronin@CroninMt

@College_Crosse I want to get this straight. I have BIG+ for Big10. ESPN+ for ACC and now its more to watch them. This is where LAX loses me. I’m trying to be supportive and they just eff you at the drive through!

@CSE_Net @College_Crosse @fieldystick @AaronYeagher How are you defining “equivalent “? Skimming $20k off the top for executives? No, that’s mathematically impossible to do for $5k - but the actual stream, yes, you could easily have a product as good for $5k or less

@CSE_Net @College_Crosse @fieldystick @AaronYeagher Running video and scouting for multiple HS programs and working with the broadcast folks - cost was $2-5k for a multi camera setup, scorebug, replay, and 2 play by play announcers. Often FREE to broadcast because the $ was covered through advertisers. $5 is more than fair

@bbuonanno88 @College_Crosse Right, but have ya been following along here about the financial burdens for neutral site games? Those outlets dont offer that production up at no cost. It’s not feasible for the organizer to do that.

@CSE_Net @College_Crosse The point is that espn or big ten network would produce a better show for all its subscribers if CSN wasn’t involved. It doesn’t serve the fans.

@CSE_Net @College_Crosse @fieldystick @AaronYeagher No one is arguing it should be free (I pay for ESPN+ & BTN+ to see games I care about). The issues are a) the price charged is ridiculous ($5 for a one off or $20 for a multi-game package would be reasonable), and b) the quality was terrible - many better HS streams for FREE

Honestly @CSE_Net is the only one who consistently brings Big Time D1 Lacrosse to non hotbed locations. Where I got to watch 200 Hofstra Games growing up, i coach Juniors in HS who never seen a live D1 Game.

@College_Crosse @fieldystick @AaronYeagher That is not feasible or fair for an event organizer (making money basically exclusively off ticket sales) to pay for among all the other expenses. You don’t know what you’re talking about, and you’re speaking with some false sense of authority. You are wrong.

@College_Crosse @fieldystick @AaronYeagher Yes! BUT the infrastructure for that is at the schools, the programs have reasons to not play all their games at the schools. Therefore you get a situation like this - so the event organizer has to eat the $15k, $20k, $35k (to your standard evidently) production bill?

@fieldystick @AaronYeagher @College_Crosse Yes you have, it’s jumped around because of what’s advantageous at that point in time. Sponsors, investors, etc have dictated where some of these things are shown. Nobody’s making a bunch of money Mark. This is a “let’s hope we cover our cost” gig

@College_Crosse Okay, but then the event operator needs to pay that production bill with NO way to recoup a dime. It’s not substantial when you’re attempting to run a business

"or it could be put on a subscription based platform" Herein lies the issue. Lacrosse fans already pay for multiple subscription based platforms. If it's on BTN+ or ESPN+, it's something they're already paying for. No one has any issue with that, and in fact, most prefer it
Corrigan Sports Network@CSE_Net

@College_Crosse The reality is broadcasts cost money and revenue streams aren’t there without consumer fees. Period. “Sponsors” don’t exist in lacrosse and there’s no cable rev for non linear outlets. The other alternative is no coverage, or it could be put on a subscription based platform

@College_Crosse We have no problem with criticism, we have a problem with trying to make the realities of broadcast something they’re not. NOBODY walks away with substantial money from these broadcasts. Period.

@CSE_Net Respectfully, we have been in the lax media space for a decade. We are more than aware of the size of the ecosystem If your business decisions work for you, fair enough. But people are going to critique the quality of the product and the price for how it drives away customers

I’m sure the production cost is high, and if that’s the reason the price is what it is, it’s somewhat understandable But in that case, why is the production quality so low? Do you honestly believe the broadcasts you put out, which charge the most, is the best in class?
Corrigan Sports Network@CSE_Net

@College_Crosse Would you prefer the games not be on at all? Do you have any idea what the production for a lacrosse game is. ESPNU vs ESPN+ (I think we’re somewhere in between). Hit me, let’s hear what you think they cost (and the answer is not zero!)
