Secondary science teacher/2ic? Looking for a great school with strong community values and a awesome reputation for cpd/progression. Less than 20miles from Cambridge. Come work with us at unitysp-careers.co.uk/job-search/job…
English

@Hookean1 I keep wires and voltmeters back at first. Had always worked well:
1. Lay components out in pattern of diagram
2. Connect with wires
3. Add voltmeters

@Shabnamagram @MrsSpalding If I’m around I’ll definitely pop by. Glad you could decipher my awful typing!
English

@CallenScience @MrsSpalding I’ll definitely check it out! Thanks, Chris.
You’re more than welcome to come along on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday 😂
English

@Shabnamagram @MrsSpalding This sounds ace. Have you looked at the winners from BBC Short Stories (4000words) or similar? Bath Short Storues are ), the Bath Short Stories (2200)? Or a selection of the 500word winners?
English

@MrsSpalding It’s national story telling week, and I actually wanted to just tell a story that’s already been published! It’s proving hard to find one that lasts 14 minutes exactly 😂

We’re preparing Year 11 for their GCSEs through a range of strategies at CHS. Our students have taken part in a series of Walking Talking Mocks in their core subjects this term. A great way to perfect exam technique! ✍️

@CamilleriMiss @emc2andallthat @IOPTeaching @ChatPhysics Lots of limitations of this model compared to others but this adds opportunities for discussion and HSW
English

Looking for an easy visual model for electrical resistance. I’ve been using the rope model in earlier lessons and will model the idea of students holding the rope tighter but wondered if there’s another demo I could use alongside this? 🤨@emc2andallthat @IOPTeaching @ChatPhysics
English

@CamilleriMiss @emc2andallthat @IOPTeaching @ChatPhysics It’s great for modelling adding R in series / parallel. Also draw new Rs as connected no rules and it represents how increasing length or thickness of wire is really same as R in series/parallel.
English

@CamilleriMiss @emc2andallthat @IOPTeaching @ChatPhysics I’ve used a rectangle (resistor) drawn on the ground. Students (charges) walk through one after another, both feet have to go in resistor before they step out. They have to wait till resistor is clear before stepping in. Time for whole class to go through approximates A

@harmsy We use the sentence “8 kg cement 4 Mr He”. Helps link both areas together

Physics teachers! Who uses the mnemonic "kg cement" for energy stores and "herm" for pathways? #iteachphysics
