Friends! Yesterday (21st June) was the Longest Day #SummerSolstice We had 16 hours and 40 minutes of sun ☀️ We have a tradition of staying up late to wait for the sun to set on this special day. We watched our Solar Hot Air Balloons light up and the sun set at 10.07pm. Wow! ☀️

Excuse me! It’s Cleo here. It’s very hot here today and we’ve had a Red Weather Warning for the rest of the week. I’m not sure what that is, but it doesn’t sound nice. I hope you aren’t melting wherever you are ☀️

Chums! Baby Dog here. This weather is BONKERS! One minute it’s Boiling Hot, and the next minute, there’s Thunder, Lightning, and Torrential Rain! Dad took me out for a walk really early this morning, to avoid the heat, and we got soaked! Look at the state of me! ⛈️

The FC says I shouldn’t invite people to rub my tummy whilst wearing a smirk because it gives the game away. I have no idea what they’re talking about. Now, would anyone like to place their hand near the fluffy area? *double dare you

Please do not panic. I am safely back indoors, in the cool and in the shade. The box remains occupied and under my direct supervision. The FC says I should move somewhere more sensible. I say if it wasn’t meant for sitting on, it shouldn’t be shaped like a box.

✨ 10-year-old Leo found a new family who adores him!✨ We couldn't be happier for him after all he's been through. If you've been following us, you may remember Leonardo's story. At 10 years old, everything he had ever known was upended when his owner passed away, leaving him all alone in the house. When he was finally discovered, he was brought to a shelter in Maryland. But for Leonardo, who had known nothing but a comfortable home and love, the shelter was an extremely stressful environment. Working with our allies in Maryland, Alley Cat Allies got him out of a shelter cage and to veterinary care. There, we treated his upper respiratory infection and helped him regain his appetite; Leonardo had been refusing food. With patience and committed care, Leonardo started eating again and got back some of his spark. However, we knew he would only truly thrive with a family, in a home where he was loved. He needed someone whose lap he could sit in for hours and just BE. And today, we're so happy to announce that he's found that place--and even a new cat brother, too! 💙 "Leonardo is doing great! I ended up adopting another cat the same day, and they have become amazing buddies," wrote Chris, Leonardo's adopter. He says Leonardo and his new brother, Gauldin, enjoy romping around together. We're going to do everything we can to help Taco the cat reunite with his family. Taco's person came to a veterinary clinic with the tabby cat in a carrier bag, asking for help. Although he loves Taco, he felt he was not in a position to afford the costs of caring for him. And, an upcoming move meant he was going somewhere that, at least for now, Taco couldn't follow. Alley Cat Allies is covering the costs of Taco's examination and ongoing care, but our goal is for his stay to be temporary. We want Taco to eventually head back home with his family--and that means providing the right resources so caring for him is not such a strain. That's what our Cats Are Family, Too™ program is all about. By improving access to no-cost cat food and medical care, we help cats stay with the families they love.
