I won’t lie, this ceasefire between Iran and the U.S. makes me uncomfortable. After everything that has happened, a pause like this does not feel easy to sit with. But not everything that feels bitter is betrayal. A lot of people are about to turn on Iran now, the same way people turned on Imam Hasan (a.s) when he made peace with Muawiya. They can only understand resistance when it looks like constant fighting. They struggle to understand that sometimes restraint is also strategy, and sometimes preserving strength is part of the battle too. So yes, this makes me uneasy. But I understand it, and I support it. The crowd that was praising Iran yesterday will start calling it weakness today. That says more about them than it does about Iran.

I agree with you. Standing with the oppressed is an Islamic obligation, not something confined to Shia or Sunni identity. But there is another obligation on every Muslim too: ٱلْأَمْرُ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَٱلنَّهْيُ عَنِ ٱلْمُنْكَرِ So yes, we stand against oppression wherever it appears. But we also have a duty to call out falsehood.

As someone who values the spirit of Ahlulbayt AS, I have always understood that standing with the oppressed is not a Shia cause or a Sunni cause it’s an Islamic obligation. Imam Ali AS taught us to be against oppression regardless of who commits it and to stand with justice regardless of who it benefits.

To the Salafis who were quick to call the Iran-Israel clashes ‘pure drama’ and ‘not our fight’… Israel just passed a law last week making hanging the default punishment for Palestinian Sunni Muslim. Where is the righteous indignation of the Arab world and the wider Sunni ummah?

Ali Khamenei actually translated Sayyid Qutb's books into Persian. ​He was such a big fan of Qutb's radical ideas that he helped spread them in Iran. So while Khamenei didn't write those specific words about jazz and haircuts, he’s the one who made sure everyone in Iran read them. Those quotes are from Sayyid Qutb the guy Khamenei loved so much he literally translated his books into Persian. ​If you're calling me a liar, you're calling Khamenei a liar for promoting a guy who thinks American jazz is 'primitive' and that a bad haircut is a sign of a barbaric civilization. 😭 Maybe tell your 'Shaheed' to find a better translator before you come for me.
