Having played with both providers, and having migrated an SMB from Gmail to Microsoft with about 10 employees, I can say this - M365 is excellent for shared mailbox functionality, e.g. if you do B2C and need a lot of client-facing in a general e-mail (like support, service, etc). GWS offers that through convoluted means of collaborative inboxes or delegated access, but messy out of the box; often services are required to make this functionality work properly (ex: HelpScout) M365 works also nicely with businesses that are not tech - everyone knows Outlook and logging into a Windows PC is easy, and the bookmarks being synced makes onboarding a new employee very easy. On the other hand, GWS is excellent for accessibility and being connectable to pretty much everything out there quite and it's very close to the dev community, so much easier to 'play' with Now my choice is pretty simple - Do I need more API + ease of development + connectivity? GWS. Am I in an org where client-facing communications are constant and don't need to come from one person but a department? M365. Do I just need an e-mail that doesn't fall into spam but has reputable MX servers? Zoho Mail. @CaptainFirmware you know a lot about the M$FT ecosystem, so perhaps you could chime in ;-)
