@TopherField I understand the argument regarding efficiency leading to a lower cost of living. Unfortunately in practice, tech improves the efficiency of operations within said company, but almost never translates to lower cost at the checkout. The pursuit of profit is of paramount priority.

So far today I've had machines get mad at me because: I was 'speeding' in a school zone. (Its a Sunday) I hadn't scanned the last item. (I had) I still had an item in my trolley. (It was a piece of onion skin) I'm not ok with being scolded by silicon. I'm pro tech, pro AI, pro anything that improves productivity, but if a computer is going to get mad at me it had damn well better be right or I'm gonna control-alt-delete it's ass back to the stone age.
