Getting back to traditional inks on this awesome Spidey piece pencilled by Chris Graves!

@TheGrave_Sight I was stoked to ink over such a bad ass Spidey piece!!

When Chance Wolf agreed to ink a cover for me traditionally (first traditional work in over a decade) I asked how much and he only asked for this Spidey piece. More than a fair trade. He just posted his inks over it! Badass!

💥 QUICK INK ANALYSIS: Hyde Street Page, by Ivan Reis and @DannyMiki_ 💥 The difference ink makes. Ivan Reis's pencil is super detailed, the composition is all there. The idea of the dark street and the screaming guy is already 100% established. The Magic of Danny Miki: * The Shock of Black: Miki throws solid black on the bottom panel and it's a slap in the face. The guy's face looks like it's on fire or being sucked into the darkness. The contrast with the white (sweat/rain) explodes in our faces. Total focus on the agony! * Heavy Atmosphere: The street isn't just wet, it's drenched and gloomy. The lines of his rain give a sense of a "dramatic storm." The buildings take on an "old and sinister" weight. * Textures: The guy's suit isn't just a suit; It feels heavy and clinging to the body because of Miki's textured brushstrokes. Ivan Reis designed the scene, but Danny Miki finished it with an emotional punch. The final art delivered the drama and horror-movie feel the sequence needed.
