@cordes_tax When we coach people on this kind of transition, we start with understanding their personal goals first.  Based on their tolerance for risk, we lay out a plan accordingly.    There's no one way to do it because every person and firm is different and needs a different approach.

Firm thoughts 💭 If you’ve been a generalist tax firm at/near capacity for years and are thinking of a niche… which is better: 1.) Slowly add desired niche clients to your general firm, only onboarding niche clients. 2.) Same as 1 but very aggressively fire blocks of non-niche clients and heavily market for niche clients 3.) Cliff dive. Sell firm and start new niche firm, allowing you to focus on your niche and onboard the best clients. #TaxTwitter
