Many Arab audiences recognize the melody through โFatoum Fatoumeh,โ an Arabic adaptation inspired by the Armenian song โGaroun Garounโ (also known as โKaroun Karounโ). The Armenian version is most famously associated with legendary Lebanese-Armenian singer Adiss Harmandian, whose 1970s recording became hugely popular across the Armenian diaspora, especially in Lebanon, Syria, and Middle Eastern Armenian communities.
