Just after 11 a.m. the Fredericton Fire Department attended George Street Middle School to investigate the report of a fire in the cafeteria kitchen. On arrival firefighters indicated the fire was out. There are no injuries, and all students are safe.

This week members from the Fire Prevention division started their annual program to visit schools throughout Fredericton. The sessions guide students through important fire safety tips to keep themselves and their families safe. #fireprevention

UPDATE at 11:12: The incident is under control. Firefighters remain on scene for cleanup. The Fredericton Fire Department is working at a wildfire north of Two Nations Crossing near Cliff Street. Please be mindful of firefighters working in the area.

Update at 12:29pm: Crews have located and extinguished all visible fire. Crews will remain on scene to dig into the ground and debris to ensure the fire is fully extinguished. Thank you for your support.

Fredericton firefighters are working at a fire in Odell Park, and have deployed their wildland resources to investigate and attack the fire. We will update this status as information becomes available.
