@masurge7 I guess we have very different perspectives on what good leadership looks like. It seems you may prioritize promises and social media messaging, while we tend to value measurable delivery and tangible results over rhetoric.

I kid you not if Tinubu were to be an Igbo man and failing this wildly, Igbos would have been the loudest against him. Those people don't cover for a wayward child.

@samak1233 Lagos remains: The largest commercial and financial center in Nigeria. Home to major industrial clusters in manufacturing, food processing, cement, consumer goods, pharmaceuticals, technology, and logistics. The location of massive projects such as the Dangote Industries refinery

Lagos state about to lose its status as the most "industrialized city in West Africa"? Lagos' industrial dominance is felt across West Africa, but there's something going on: Benin republic made a queen's move, with GDIZ industrial project, attracting investors across the globe— outpacing Lagos is just a step ahead. Will Lagos sit and not push harder? The west African industrial revolution has just begun📌

Lagos state continues industrial predominance in Nigeria. Lagos doesn't leave anything for a chance. Babajide Sanwo Olu—Lagos state governor has just commissioned Two New Industrial Facilities within the week, and they have just Commenced Operations At the Lekki Free Trade Zone Lagos 🇳🇬, developed by @CCECCNigeria. The projects which is a building materials production line and an agro-input facility will boost local supply capacity and support regional employment.

@i_am_agbeke @RealitycheckNJ I admire your confidence in putting yourself out there. However, I'm curious to know: how much do you actually know about your candidate, and what specific qualities, policies, or achievements make him your preferred choice?

I am a Yoruba woman - both my parents are from Egba land in Ogun State, and I am married to an Ijebu man. I am a full-blooded Yoruba woman. I supported and voted for Peter Obi in 2023 (check my other handle @RealitycheckNJ), and I will gladly do it again. If you love this country, I beg you in God’s name - get your PVC and come out to vote en masse. We cannot continue like this. What is happening in this country is not sustainable. I take God beg una. 🙏🏽

Unpopular opinion: If Nigeria wasn't amalgamated, The Southeast would be Singapore. The Southwest would be Ghana. The North would be… still figuring it out. The real question isn't whether Nigeria should have been amalgamated. It's why 60+ years after independence, we're still blaming 1914 for 2024 problems. Who's responsible now?

What Labour is doing is reminiscent of the terrible energy policies I saw growing up in Nigeria. ❌Stupid taxes 🧾Endless bureaucracy and government interference 🏭❌ No refining capability ⛽⚠️...and now Labour are warning about rationing and fuel shortages. The UK can do better than Labour's energy insanity. The @Conservatives Cheap Power Plan explains how we can do this. It’s time to drill in the North Sea and scrap green taxes that are killing investment and driving up bills.

Yes, ịchafu is a loanword from French "chiffon" (fabric) or "couvre-chef" (head cover), adapted into Igbo—not a native term (older Igbo words like unari/ulari exist for headtie). Pre-colonial/1900s Igbo women: Mostly elaborate hairstyles with beads, ùlì art, and minimal simple cloth wraps (if any) for sun/modesty; wrappers covered lower body. Northcote Thomas photos (1910-13) show little structured headscarf, focus on hair/beads. Elaborate flowing ichafu styles grew later via trade/migration. Ichafu look: Soft, simple scarf tied loosely with graceful folds around head (subtle, not stiff). Yoruba gele pre-colonial: Large stiff fabric (often aso-oke) tied into tall, sculptural, pleated voluminous shapes signaling status/marital info (e.g., tilt/height); worn with buba, iro, ipele. Documented in 19th-century portraits/records as elegant and consistent. Exchanges via contact shaped both.

@adeosunm @mindshiftorg We need to be reasonable with our expectations. Supporting a political party does not mean expecting perfection; however, we must be willing to point out and correct their missteps, using both encouragement and accountability (the carrot and stick approach).

@mindshiftorg So, if I don't pander to APC, which party do I pander to!? So, I should relegate APC that produce President Tinubu to another party!? Some of us are just too 'idealistic' and emotional in our reactions that we fail to understand the dynamics and nature of Nigerian party system.
