I see people saying that the PS3 and GameCube could do this 15 years ago...yeah EXACTLY! If a standalone headset with a chip the size of a postage stamp can render something that looks even close to what a dedicated home console rendering in 720p could do that's dang impressive. People are forgetting that this is rendering at a much higher resolution and hitting 72-90hz, not 30 fps. Plus it has to render it TWICE! Look at where we started with standalone VR.

This tame and objectively correct observation on the PSVR2 earned me a few nasty personal replies and a kick from a PSVR2 group chat.

A lot of people upset at a very accurate headline. I still don't know anyone IRL with a PSVR2. Calling it obscure is the nice way of putting it. Why get mad at this site for telling it like it is?

Last night, I criticised the $100 price increase of the Quest, after 3 Oculus ambassadors visited my home at night and explained to me the reasons for the increase, I now feel foolish for my previous opinions.
I will be purchasing a Quest and I strongly recommend you do as well

The beauty of Genotype design and its baked lighting, which is basically just a static version of path tracing without reflections. Everything runs at 120 fps on PSVR2.
