Patriots "core 4" special teams report (vs. Ravens):
4⃣ units: LB Marte Mapu, S Dell Pettus, S Brenden Schooler, LB Jahlani Tavai
3⃣ units: LB Chad Muma, OLB Elijah Ponder, TE Jack Westover
2⃣ units: CB Miles Battle, LB Christian Elliss, OLB Anfernee Jennings, RB D'Ernest Johnson, CB Charles Woods
1⃣ unit: DE/OLB K'Lavon Chaisson (PP/PC), WR Mack Hollins (KR), LB Jack Gibbens (PP/PC), CB Marcus Jones (PR), WR Kyle Williams (KR), S Craig Woodson (KC)
NOTABLE CHANGES: The main challenges were filling the 4-unit void created when OLB Caleb Murphy was claimed on waivers by the Giants, and also accounting for lessening LB Jack Gibbens' 4-unit role to 1-unit (punt protection/coverage) because he was starting on D in place of Robert Spillane ... Newly-signed LB Chad Muma essentially filled 3 of Murphy's roles, while K'Lavon Chaisson stepped back into the punt protection/coverage unit ... OLB Elijah Ponder was also asked to do more (up from 2 units last week to 3 units in this game), as was WR Mack Hollins (0 units last week but needed on the kickoff return this week) ... S Dell Pettus went from 3 units to 4 units, taking the place of Charles Woods (ankle) as a gunner on punt coverage.
(Core 4 units are punt protection/coverage; kickoff coverage; punt return -- non-grey unit; kickoff return. Personnel charted on 1st units to take the field.)
