AAU 🏀. The biggest scam going in youth sports. $25 try out fee, $1,400 registration fee if your kid makes the team. $50 entry fees to tournament games. A, B and C teams for each age groups. Age loopholes including the Reclassed kids. #nobueno

There are some great teams and amazing players in New England D3. Most kids are not only D1 (especially with the portal) Find a school that is a good fit academically and athletically. Keep playin ball, get a degree

35 D3 programs in New England. Some states barely have any. If you want to extend your career, you might have to leave home. We have real options. Public and private. Financial Aid/scholarships are available. Most players aren’t D1.
That doesn’t mean football has to end.

New/Young Coaches: It is great to want to be a coordinator or head coach. Spend your time learning and developing as a coach and not obsessing over getting the title. You want to be READY when you chance comes. Impatience ruins more coaching careers than anything.

Georgetown Head Baseball Coach, @GUCoachT, discusses the trap when winning can start to mask things in your program. He calls it "Success slippage." "When you have some success, things can slip. I call it success slippage. You know, when you have some success and then things aren't as tight as it should be, but you're like, 'Hey, we just won so it's okay.'" Every coach or leader wants to win, but sustained winning is built on standards. If the inputs get compromised, eventually the outputs will too. Every season, every week, every day is an opportunity to re-commit to the standard, individually and collectively. Full episode can be found below. 📹: Win More, Live Better Podcast (Ep. 203)

Connor Hellebuyck: Never played Tier 1. Never played in The Brick. Never played Quebec PW. Never made a Development Camp. Did play HS hockey. Did play NAHL. Did play NCAA D1. Did win a Vezina. Did win Olympic gold. And yet we’ve got parents stressing over which 8U team 🤯

If you’re considering playing football but unsure… I’ve never met anyone who said: “I regret playing football.” But I’ve heard plenty say: “I wish I would’ve played football.” “I wish I would’ve found out what I was capable of.” Football isn’t easy. It’s worth it. 🏈

One of the best things you can do for your kids is get them involved in sports. One of the worst things you can do is let sports become their identity.
