Frontline employees understand a company’s problems better than anyone. They hear the complaints, see the frustrations, and know exactly where a product falls short. Teachers are the frontline workers of education. They notice the small shifts and struggles well before the data reveals it. And the patterns teachers see matter because they are reflective of what’s happening in our broader culture and society. From the thousands of messages and comments I receive from teachers around the world, here’s what they’re noticing: -Reading stamina is declining. -Completing tasks often feels optional. -Handwriting legibility is getting worse. -Focus is fading (following directions and sustained listening are harder than ever). -Learned helplessness is rising (more students rely on the teacher instead of working through challenges). -Basic school habits are disappearing (bringing a pencil, finishing assignments, staying organized). To begin fixing these things and slow the rise of teacher burnout, we must start with one simple step: Listen to the frontline workers of education. Listen to teachers.

With all eyes on Artemis II, it’s easy to forget the thousands of hands that got the crew there. One 93-year-old “Space Grandma” traveled from Oklahoma to witness her grandsons’ work on the Orion spacecraft. The Weather Channel’s Katie Tutrone met her to see how a passion for the stars spans generations:
