Remembered as “one of the best friends Colorado golf has ever had,” Vivian Dorsey left a lasting impact both through her play and her passion for the game.
A standout competitor, Dorsey captured the 1951 CWGA Stroke Play Championship and went on to win an incredible 16 club championships between City Park Golf Course and Wellshire Golf Course, establishing herself as one of Denver’s most accomplished amateur golfers.
Her success continued well into her senior years, where she claimed six Colorado Senior Women’s Golf Championship titles and was twice named Senior Woman Golfer of the Year by the Colorado PGA.
Dorsey’s contributions to the game extended beyond the scorecard as well. In 1978, she was honored with the YWCA Sportswoman’s Award for Golf, recognizing both her achievements and her role in growing the game.
A champion competitor and beloved figure in Colorado golf.
