Sonic Team will forever be absolutely based for this, especially when Islamphobia was so commun and accepted back then, it must have taken a lot of guts to add these.
This meant a lot to me when I was younger and it still does today!

so, lazy artist tip
If you're anything like me and you just want a simple blurred background instead of a white void to help fill out the image and give more presence to your piece, but don't want to scour stock images.
I use Google Maps Street View so I can control the angle and location a lot more. Same principal as when I'm using Blender as my background tool. You can find virtually any outdoor location to fit your piece if you know where to look
I still love Blender for a lot of other things, but Google Maps has been really helpful in a pinch!

It took me two days to figure out what I was doing wrong between these two, and even compared to the reference I dunno if I like it
