With todayโs 4 pm ET deadline looming, the 49ers are opting not to exercise the $10 million option bonus in Trent Williamsโ contract, per sources. Williamsโ salary cap number now will grow to close to $47 million, but the team is not overly concerned about it and it still is planning to rework his contract before next monthโs NFL Draft.

@CommandersHtt Honestly I thought White was ready to be RB1 for Tampa but Bucky Irving wasted no time being NFL ready from day 1. I knew Bucky would be good but not so quick. Even for fantasy football I had drafted White in one of my leagues because I thought he would be RB1 after a good season

Was expecting to enjoy #Commanders RB Rachaad White's tape as a pass-catcher and blocker. I actually ended up loving it as a rusher
What I noticed:
-Always seems to fall forward (think Zeke)
-Good vision and timing getting to the hole
-Runs through arm tackles

For what it's worth, it doesn't sound like #49ers will move on from Aiyuk today. The point of earlier post was once the new league year begins, they can do it to use the post June 1 designation.
Now that new league year has opened, that option is available to Niners. Just a matter of when.

Even if/when Washington lands Brandon Aiyuk on a 1-year prove it, I would expect them to pursue another WR. They need another wideout who can build a relationship with Jayden Daniels -- especially with Terry McLaurin's cap hit around $34 million in '27 (tough to keep at that #)
