لاہور تا اسلام آباد: 100 کلومیٹر کم فاصلے والا نیا متبادل موٹروے روٹ لاہور سے اسلام آباد کے درمیان سفر کو مزید تیز اور آسان بنانے کے لیے ایک نیا موٹروے روٹ تیزی سے تیار کیا جا رہا ہے، جو مشہور زمانہ M-2 کا بہترین متبادل ثابت ہوگا۔ یہ راستہ پہلے سے موجود لاہور-سیالکوٹ موٹروے (M-11) سے شروع ہو کر سمبڑیال سے کھاریاں اور پھر کھاریاں سے راولپنڈی/اسلام آباد تک جائے گا۔ زیرِ تعمیر حصوں کی تکمیل کے بعد یہ نیا روٹ M-2 کے مقابلے میں تقریباً 100 کلومیٹر کم ہوگا، جس سے نہ صرف ایندھن کی بچت ہوگی بلکہ مسافروں کا قیمتی وقت بھی بچے گا۔ یہ منصوبہ پنجاب کے اہم صنعتی علاقوں کو براہِ راست دارالحکومت سے جوڑنے میں ایک سنگِ میل ثابت ہوگا۔
