Our 4th Bitcoin Zone was inaugurated today in Apopa, San Salvador. Months of hard work go into these spaces. From the initial design to hand-shaping the Cortez Blanco wood into our signature bookshelves, every step is taken with care. The results are pure excellence and beauty, as you can see below. And the entire Bitcoin Office team plays a part in creating these spaces for the new El Salvador. Aside from offering a special place to learn about Bitcoin, we believe that extraordinary public spaces inspire awe, love, and respect for the country - inviting even more beauty and peace into the community. That is why we build them. Max and I first visited Apopa exactly four years ago this month. It was just weeks into President Bukele's régimen de excepción. Until the elimination of the gangs, Apopa had been one of the most dangerous places in the country. Today, it stands as a testament to El Salvador reborn. These are the good times (and pupusas) strong men have created!

Created by the National Bitcoin Office, it's an educational space, built to bring Bitcoin literacy directly into communities. Books, resources, and real access for students and young people.
Every day, these young Salvadorans demonstrate remarkable dedication, hard work, and commitment. They are not just building the future of El Salvador, they are the future, and they are the driving force behind its transformation.
This is a government that isn't waiting. It's proactively building.
El Salvador is moving really fast. And this is only the beginning.

The BITCOIN ZONE in Apopa is officially open!
And the inauguration was a huge hit with the locals who turned out in droves to see the bitcoin bookshelf, the new furniture and lovely plants.
They also really enjoyed the bitcoin-branded pupusas!

Apopa is an area heavily affected by violence in the past.

UNESCO REPORT: Innovative Legal Framework & Open-Source Excellence Position El Salvador as a Latin American Leader in AI
Earlier today, UNESCO presented their El Salvador country report on AI readiness.
These are the top five positive highlights from the findings outlined in theIR El Salvador report:
➡️ PIONEERING LEGAL ARCHITECTURE: El Salvador has an approved, regulated, and active AI framework—the Law on the Promotion of Artificial Intelligence and Technologies (February 2025)—making it one of the only countries in the region with an in-force specific AI law, scoring a maximum 100/100 on the ILIA 2025 Legal Initiative sub-indicator.
➡️ STRONG OPEN-SOURCE TECHNICAL CAPITAL: The country unexpectedly leads the entire Latin American region in the quality of open-source repositories, averaging 5.01 stars per repository (ranking 1st out of 19 countries evaluated in the ILIA 2025 Index).
➡️ ADVANCED PUBLIC SECTOR ADOPTION: Government agencies have successfully implemented high-impact AI tools ; for example, the National Registry (RNPN) digitized 18 million historical images, cutting execution times by roughly 90%, while the Ministry of Housing trimmed regulatory analysis times from 4 hours to just 30–35 minutes.
➡️ AGGRESSIVE INTERNATIONAL TECH PARTNERSHIPS: The state has secured ambitious global alliances, including an AI-assisted public telemedicine platform called DoctorSV built with Google Cloud, a personalized AI tutoring initiative in over 5,000 public schools with xAI, and a sovereign AI infrastructure plan using an NVIDIA B300 cluster.
➡️ SIGNIFICANT ECONOMIC & TAX INCENTIVES: The Law on the Promotion of Innovation and Technology Manufacturing provides highly competitive 15-year tax exemptions (income, assets, tariffs) explicitly targeting AI, cloud computing, and big data to attract investment.
