Sun setting on my first day playing golf in Scotland. Par-4 14th hole, what has become one of my favorite holes in the world. Pull my drive left, 190 yards in, dead into the fan. In a death match vs. @MattGinella. Green is completely blind, recessed below a towering dune. Beach to the right, a wall of gorse to the left. Fucking do-or-die! Smash a 5-wood...and I can still feel the purity of the strike in my body. Ball takes off like scud missile but at its apex is held up by the gale. I dead sprint up the hill to see what awaits. My ball is 12' from the hole...never been so happy in my entire fucking life. Brush in the putt like a practice round gimme. Bury me beside this green, please.

Last time I played golf I hit a 9 iron to 8 feet from a fairway bunker that was 156 yards out. It landed like 3 feet from the pin and spun back to 8 feet. I don’t think an hour has gone by without me thinking about it atleast once. Had water on the left of the green too. Nasty!
