"No one is responsible for this...it's just the weather."
Dan Skelton declared Deafening Silence a non-runner in the £40k Novices' Chase at Exeter, which resulted in Captain Teague completing a walkover, & shared some very interesting views on the event afterwards 👇@AJD1Racing
@kev1n1985 have you noticed the arguments about tax focus on where government should go to maximise the take - there is very little discussion about how they waste the money we give them -
Even though it's fallen out of fashion, 442 remains the best football formation and no amount of false 9s, high presses or double pivots will convince me otherwise.
Brexiter in pink, "What will the SNP do to support growth in the manufacturing sector"
John Swinney, "Rejoin the EU"
Brexiter in pink, unimpressed
John Swinney, "Because that's the source of problems in the manufacturing sector"
*huge clap in the audience*
Fiona Bruce, "Given the hoops to get there: secure independence, the EU agree to let you back in. Questioner wants something slightly shorter term"
John Swinney, "My point is, some issues in this election campaign are not seeing the light of day. One of them is the disastrous impact of Brexit on the UK economy"
Fiona Bruce, "You are free to offer that opinion, but that is not the question you're being asked"
Brexiter in pink, even more unimpressed
@thepaulwilliams the availability of a complete fresh front row off the bench negates the advantage a more powerful pack used to give a team in the last 20 minutes.
Never quite understood the negativity aimed at repeated scrummaging.
Lots of scrums equals lots of tired players which equals defensive gaps.
Less scrums means less space over 80 minutes.
I realise this is a novelty for English people so I thought to post a picture to remind you of what a clean river looks like. Can be used for swimming, fishing and boating
@TightFive_Rugby No point doing that because most of the time the players and coaches have no idea what’s going on - specifically why a decision goes one way or the other - Scrum coach is just an ex front row who can talk well -
Yes. This.
A scrum is one of the most technically & physically challenging areas in ANY sport.
Sometimes nearly 2 tonnes of mass pushing against each other - nothing comes close to that physical challenge.
And understandably, 99% of fans, pundits and commentators don’t understand it fully.
Get people in who know the nuances of it and who can explain it well, but also use stats to our advantage.
A huge thank you to everyone who bought / streamed / downloaded ‘AUDIO VERTIGO’, which has entered the charts today at Number 1. This is now elbow’s 4th studio album to top the charts in the UK.
Watching Ireland Wales U20’s. Sorry but if you want to be a rugby player get a haircut that means you don’t ever have to brush your hair out of your eyes on the pitch!
Rugby being called child abuse is a tough pill to swallow. I started playing at 11, a shy, dyslexic kid from Liverpool. Rugby gave me confidence, lifelong friendships, and opened doors I never thought possible. It's given me everything.
@MarcDavenant much smaller percentage of school leavers went to uni
People died before they were 65 or 70 so the pension overhead wasn’t what it is now
NHS - same -people living longer than before means more people needing treatment - plus the benefit system was a safety net not a lifestyle
