@historyinmemes Well, Jason and the Argonauts it's considered the peak of the slow motion effects, it's truly impressive what they accomplished. Always liked the film, I have likely seen it a dozen times at least.

Movie effects in 1963 were unbelievably impressive. Even with all the technological limitations, filmmakers refused to let those limits hold back their imagination.

Como anglosajón, soy el primero en defender la inmensa, inmensa riqueza de la literatura en español, que sin duda merece ser mucho más conocida y reconocida. Luego, decir que las culturas anglosajonas carecen de literatura es demostrar una ignorancia y una estupidez absolutas.

No desmerezco a Cervantes, el Quijote es la mejor novela de la historia

@FRANRCD1906 @ilopezcuevas @lukestegemann Porque no lo es, Cervantes tiene la mejor y más influyente novela de la historia, el resto de sus obras son mediocres, Calderón le da 1000 vueltas. Shakespeare tiene multitud de obras maestras que retratan las contradicciones y emociones del alma humana como nadie había hecho.

@jondelarroz One of the good ones but not in the top5, lieber, zelezny, farmer, Asimov, lem, Heinlein, bujold, cherry, Pohl., silverberg, Dick, legion, gibson, Simmons,Wells, Clark.... Lots of talented writers, I can understand if u put it in a top10 but the best is impossible for him.

@lukestegemann Lo mejor es que de toda está gente que responde con orgullo patrio, seguramente no el 10% habrá leído el quijote comoleto no una sola vez, y ni hablar de haberse leído las obras del bardo Inmortal

@lukestegemann Cervantes tiene una obra excelsa ,el quijote es la mejor novela de la historia, pero... Shakespeare es un autor más diverso con multitud de obras que tratan diferentes temas todos con maestría. Para mí el único comparable en castellano sería Calderón y está lejos del Inglés.

A ver, el debate Cervantes vs Shakespeare es completamente estéril. Son dos escritores enormes pero muy diferentes, cada uno con su lenguaje, su obra, su contexto, sus hitos y su inabarcable influencia.

@okaynups Clueless, fortunately, in my gen (millenials) women take the initiative or are quite direct, so I've never had trouble picking up women, In fact the problem has been turning them down without causing offense. I'm not sure what it's like among young people nowadays

@bernardtjoy Norma by Bellini and La traviata by Verdi. In that order, I have special feeling for la traviata, since it was my first live opera. Nowz years later, after having seen many more, Norma is my winner choice. I love Bach but he didn't write operas. 😤
