Four teams in MLB history have lost 10 or more games in a row and made the playoffs. The last was the Guardians in 2025. Only one of those teams had a skid in April and still made the postseason: the 1951 Giants, who lost 11 consecutive.. The New York Mets have lost 10 straight.

The Texas Rangers have hired Skip Schumaker as their new manager. Schumaker, 45, was the National League Manager of the Year in 2023 and spent the last year as a special assistant with the Rangers. He takes over for future Hall of Famer Bruce Bochy.

In the 2001 World Series, none of Arizona's starting pitchers were home-grown—all were acquired via trades or free agency. Among position players who started games, only two were home-grown: Rod Barajas (1 start) and Erubiel Durazo (1 start). The primary lineup and rotation were built on veterans, not farm system talent.

@Jared_Carrabis Because they buy all of their players. A very small fraction of their core is home-grown players so they’re able to trade all of their prospects away for MLB-level guys No need to have a farm system when you have a printing press
