How fast do #rcc tumor thrombi grow? 📈 In our cohort @MayoUrology (n=141), venous tumor thrombi expanded ~1 cm/month (wide range). Faster growth seen with higher Mayo level, sarcomatoid/rhabdoid features & metastasis. These data can guide pre-op imaging & surgical triage.

In analysis of over 2,000 open RC patients, Mayo Clinic researchers found that prophylactic iNPWT was associated with lower odds of SSI. Further investigation is warranted though this low cost/risk intervention may reduce morbidity for select patients

Bladder tumor hard to reach intraluminally or pt not TURBT candidate? In 59 percutaneous biopsies, 95% diagnostic yield, 93% concordance with TURBT/surgical pathology, 0% bladder perf/leak. Another tool for #bladdercancer providers.
