@DWBNotSilenced @KaeleyT @RealSpikeCohen @conservmillen Exactly where does God say that before sin? You are reading in what is not there (eisegesis) and twisting what is there to suit your bias (and your desire to elevate some humans over others). That is a fearful thing.

While I appreciate @conservmillen on so many levels, but oy vey. One of the biggest blind spots in complementarian circles is the insistence that egalitarianism is somehow a gateway to LGBTQ affirmation. It simply doesn’t fit the evidence. Entire movements of sexually orthodox egalitarians and charismatics are treated as though they don’t exist. What’s more, this argument is never applied consistently. If we’re going to judge a theology by the worst trajectories associated with it, we’d also have to acknowledge how often complementarianism has functioned as a slippery slope to misogyny, spiritual abuse, and the protection of abusive men. Somehow that correlation is always dismissed as irrelevant. The irony here is hard to miss. The same man who recently argued for limiting women’s influence on podcasts has now joined a woman’s podcast. He’s also someone who has chosen to platform an abusive misogynist. Those seem like more pressing patterns to examine than pretending egalitarianism inevitably leads to apostasy.

What God really DID say is that it’s not good for man to be alone. Left to his own devices (and especially in leadership) he runs amok. His impulses need to be tempered by feminine wisdom and insight. We rule and reign TOGETHER, not with one sex running roughshod over the other. Male supremacy is a scourge from the out of hell.

This is why 1/3+ of them are Mexican guys, black Africans, etc. It is also why they respond to actual performance stats for Appalachians or Irish travelers or whatever by calling those people "spiritually brown." "Whiteness" is here used in almost the same way that "gluten-free" is on packages of bacon - a genetic statement that a thing is good.
