This coordinated investment between the DWS, Human Settlements, and the municipality has enabled the completion of key infrastructure, including a 1 424-kilolitre elevated steel water storage tank, as well as water and sewer reticulation networks and a sewer package plant.

[PICTURES] DWS in partnership with the Department of Human Settlements and Mogale City Local Municipality and the MMC of Infrastructure, conducting an oversight visit at Dr Sefularo Housing Development Project in Hekpoort, Mogale City Local Municipality, this morning.

Through this intervention, DWS has successfully completed key infrastructure components, including a 1 424-kilolitre elevated steel water storage tank, water and sewer reticulation networks, as well as a sewer package plant.

DWS has played a pivotal role in supporting the project through the Water Services Infrastructure Grant (WSIG), allocating R20 million during the 2024/25 financial year as part of a broader R99.989 million investment in water and sanitation infrastructure within Mogale City LM.

This morning DWS and Mogale City Local Municipality are at the Dr Sefularo Housing Development Project. The visit is part of government’s commitment to accelerate integrated human settlements and the provision of reliable water and sanitation services.

#FutureOfSustainability | He mentioned that the conference assembled the entire ecosystem of sustainability leadership, which is exactly what the water sector and innovation require. A call to action was made to build a better world for future generations.

#FutureOfSustainability | During his address, the Deputy Minister highlighted that "Partnerships for Progress” is a crucial topic. He pointed out that the main issue facing the country is the unreliable water supply, due to infrastructure not keeping up with population growth.
