I think Japan BL has developed to the point where there are now many works that are quite close to reality. But even those realistic works get criticized by some people โ€”for example, Nakamura is being attacked by some in Japan simply because it was created by a heterosexual woman

@QuantumSpark19 @Alxvenji That's why the gay community in Japan doesn't hype up Yaoi, Yaoi in itself is fanservice for women who don't want to see themselves in romances. There are written works created by gay people but they're very different from Yaoi. (Correct me if I'm wrong)

@Alxvenji Most bls are focused on satisfying the fujoshis and fundashis fantasies and never show the hard truth of growing up liking your same sex, and if they do itโ€™s always as the sad flashbacks and then they have a happy ending (not all of course)
