After Richard Hunt’s death, Janice remained in the background for years, resurfacing in the 2000s as performed by David Rudman. Her largest role since has been in The Muppets Mayhem, where her allergy to lying and her people-pleasing tendencies are shined upon.

Janice has been performed by a number of puppeteers, most notably Richard Hunt. It was during his tenure that Janice’s granola girl traits came to prominence; she also gained relationship with Floyd Pepper at this point, having been paired with Zoot during Jerry Nelson’s absence.

Today’s Muppet of the Day is Janice! Lead guitar player for the Electric Mayhem, Janice has been a member of the band since “The Muppet Show: Sex and Violence” in 1975. She was conceived as a Mick Jagger takeoff, though her final design bore little resemblance to the singer.

Today’s Muppet of the Day is Caiman! Caiman is an older resident of the rainforest, seen in “The Song of the Cloud Forest”. When Milton is at his lowest, Caiman encourages him to teach the “uprights” the importance of listening to the animals.

Today’s Muppet of the Day is Mrs. Maloy! Mrs. Maloy and her woodchuck Elmore stop by the Sesame Street bus stop in Episode 3376, meeting Benny Rabbit and Louise. Elmore’s attempt to recreate Benny’s teeth squeaking leads to the two rabbits missing the bus to downtown.

Today’s Muppet of the Day is the Royal Magician! A magician accompanies a prince and princess in episode 3513 of Sesame Street. Whenever the two play “Magical Hide and Seek”, he turns one of them into a mystery object for the other to find.

Today’s Muppet of the Day is Zubin Beckmesser! Orchestra head Zubin Beckmesser’s close call with an electrical outlet is the focus of a Muppet News Flash shown in the Tony Randall episode of The Muppet Show. He is shaken but seemingly unharmed, thanks to being a poor conductor.

Today’s Muppets of the Day are the Surf Rats! A band of singing Muppet rats are among the vocalists in the Muppet Beach Party album. They are heard in two tracks, accompanying Clifford in “Under the Boardwalk” and performing “Surfin’” by themselves.

Today’s Muppet of the Day is Bernie! After Nora Chicken disappears in episode 3129 of Sesame Street, her husband Nick, Telly, and Colambo team up to find who took her. Bernie seems to be the culprit, but he actually hired Nora for his animal band.

Today’s Muppet of the Day is the Bailiff Doozer! This Doozer assists Judge Gavel Doozer in the Trial of Cotterpin Doozer, shown in the Fraggle Rock episode of the same name. Though quick to follow the judge’s word, he shows somewhat greater patience for Cotterpin’s defense.

Today’s Muppet of the Day is the Diva! A singing star sings the Alphabet Song in a season 23 Sesame Street sketch. She adjusts her voice in accordance to directions from the stage manager, not knowing they’re meant for the technicians moving a sign behind her.

Today’s Muppet of the Day is the Turtle! A turtle appears alongside Elmo in the cold opening for episode 5133 of Sesame Street. Elmo explains to the turtle, and the audience, that turtles are an example of reptiles, after he initially expresses confusion.

Today’s Muppets of the Day are Jack and Jill! These Muppet versions of the storybook duo attend the Storybook Community School, seen in two episodes of Sesame Street. Jack, of course, often falls down, and while Jill has stronger coordination, sometimes she comes tumbling after.

Today’s Muppet of the Day is Mr. Warthog! Mr. Warthog visits Mopatop’s Shop in the episode “Flowers”, wishing to get some flowers that said “Thank you, Mom”. He manages to get some in exchange for flowers he bought earlier, which instead say “Happy Birthday, Gordon”.

Today’s Muppet of the Day is Mr. Hat! Distinguished Mr. Hat is interviewed by Elmo for the Elmo’s World episode “Hats”, demonstrating the parts of a hat as a crash helmet and a baseball cap stop by.

Today’s Muppet of the Day is the Disagreeable Sandwich! A talking sandwich was performed by Jim Henson in “The Secrets of The Muppets”, as a demonstration of puppetry. It resurfaced in the Cosby Show episode “Cliff’s Nightmare”, arguing with Cliff during the titular nightmare.
