My heart breaks over the sudden loss of Chris Burrous, a fixture on TV screens across the city, always there with a smile and a story to help Angelenos get their day started. Our wishes to the whole @KTLA family, to his wife, daughter, and loved ones. Chris will be missed.

Last Thursday, @chrisburrous sent me this photo so I’d know he was outside my office waiting for me. I am so sad that that will never happen again. Rest In Peace, my friend.

You did. I’ve worked with a lot of talent and I can say he was the same guy off air. He was always trying to make people happy. I’ll truly miss him.

We all lost a friend today. I’m so sad to say goodbye. He had a great generous heart and he gave everything he was to his family and his profession. I can’t express how much we have lost. Many condolences to his family and LA. We’ve lost a Giant. Goodbye my friend.
