First Best Scenario- Destiny 2 ends with Final Shape, Destiny 3 announced and already being worked on
Second Best Scenario- Destiny 2 keeps going after Final Shape with a similar amount of resources for big expansions/seasons. Destiny 3 already greenlit
Third Best Scenario- Destiny 2 end-of-service announced but will end after the next expansion that will be able to tie things up to some degree. Destiny 3 someday
Eleventh Best Scenario- Whatever just happened here

@GoofyOomfie DBFZ is my prime example. I loved the game up until about S3, but when they started to gut the balance to account for delay based netcode during Covid, it murdered the identity I enjoyed. At a certain point you reach a natural evolution of the initial vision and then dip.

This is something I have been wondering about Strive in specific. The game can't look any better, already has rollback, and the mechanics are being changed all the time. At this point what reason is there not to just keep adding or changing stuff?

Real question, why do new Fighting games even need to release? From my perception there seems to be like +15 good ones, cant all the players go there forever? This is what people do in every other PVP genre mostly, Counter strike has like 3 releases in 25 years

@PaulTassi I went through this exact cycle with licensed Dragon Ball games and it took me a while to break it. Please don't put people through the same mentality of "buy something you don't like so that they spend the money on something you do."

The reality is that now, more than ever, people should want Marathon to win. If it can thrive, it can expand in interesting ways, it can give Bungie runway and leeway with Sony for future projects. It's all upside if you want more Bungie games or even more Destiny. Marathon dying from here doesn't help anyone. Though that does not mean I'm going to just cheerlead if things don't turn around

People are interpreting this as some sort of battle cry, but it's the reality that people are upset about Marathon taking away resources from D2, which it did, to launch and perform poorly anyway. This is not subjective, it's what happened. Marathon is certainly not *the* reason Destiny 2 is dissolving. Leadership, lack of foresight, post-TFS plans, layoffs are the main culprits, but it's disingenuous to pretend it's in some separate silo somewhere and isn't involved in this at all.

@LeonMandala I'm kind of here for Star Rail, but I think that's due to systematic issues with the rewrites and Elation being an awful gimmick. Sometimes you just gotta weather the storm.
I did finally drop Genshin in Natlan when even the new characters didn't make it fun.

Ask yourself “can I still enjoy the game without pulling/maxing new 5⭐️/SSR characters?”
