One small datapoint of why the Trump years were so awful is that many writers just set their "contemporary" novels in 2015 as to avoid dealing with all of the shit you'd have to work around if you set it during his presidency (he's akin to the Pandemic in that way)

@TheLincoln Very true, although it does seem like it could have been overdone now that we’re here, this election feels different (more disinterest)than the last one where every ounce of attention was vacuumed up, but these decisions were likely made many months ago based on the last election

Joe Scarborough stepped to the plate and hit it out of the park this morning with his comments about MSM and their coverage of Trump and their false moral equivalency. And this is why MSNBC is the only news media I watch.
