@AviusL Totally correct! I've set a timer for them to disappear quite quickly so it doesn't affect the performance too much. That way, if the 4 players are cutting tree down altogether, it should be handled quite well. But I'll probably add an option to not spawn the particles as well :)

@DerelictsGame Great to hear! I'm sure it'll look a lot better 😊 The particles from the wood, depending on how fast they disappear, might cause some fps drops if it's too many if cutting many trees, etc. Something to keep in mind. Other than that, great work!

After a lot of tweaking, the tree chopping finally feels more organic: - Performant chop effect - Random debris on axe impact + debris falling from the top. - Shaking branches and leaves on fall impact + dust and floating leaves - Impactful sound (impacts, crackling after hit..)

This is the most violent tree chopping I have ever seen in a game and I love it.

@AviusL Haha, yeah, I was using some attack animations but the left swing definitely doesn't make sense at all! I'll have it removed completely and keep a slower right swing. It will look much better! :) Thank you for the feedback!

@DerelictsGame This doesn't look realistic at all. No offence meant 😅 But you would never tilt your arms to the left like that while chopping wood. you first slowly lift the axe up and to the right, then the swing down is the faster animation. You first have to raise the axe. Like this..

@jifferey Yeah, I'll need to change the left swing as it looks too weird and doesn't really make sense. I think I'll also slow down the right swing a bit so it feels more impactful. Thanks for the feedback, JFJ!

@softlikeshadows Yeah, there are two animations, a left swing and a right swing. But the left swing looks really weird and too fast. I'll need to remove it and slow down the right swing so it feels better! :) Thank you for the feedback!

@DerelictsGame I like everything about this other than the animation. I can't actually work out what is happening, it's so fast and sometimes looks like the arms are twisted and the axe is pointing the wrong way. If it's carried as in the opening frame, should it not swing from right to left?

@TTM1944 Yeah, I'll need to tweak the animations so they look better for sure! I'll give them more momentum

@DerelictsGame I'm probably being picky in this as well and once again I don't have any skill in making this but If possible try and make the animation more realistic by swinging from the top of the shoulder a bit like this

@jifferey @DerelictsGame The swing from the right looks perfect it’s just the left swing that feels weird. It goes too high up, feels very strange.

@lumbrjaksamurai Thanks! Yeah, the animations need to be worked on to give a better feeling of hitting the tree! :) It's on my list. I love the tree cutting mechanic of The Forest and SOTF but it's way too complicated to do it the same at the moment. But I agree it's the best I've seen!

@DerelictsGame Awesome progress and can’t wait for this! I think the animation could use a little work to look more natural. One of my favorite games to cut down trees is Sons of the Forest.. would love to see your take on that type of animation here! 🪵 🪓

@Wald_Voll_Eulen Yep! :) There is an option to disable Head Bobbind et Camera Shakes in the options. I know a lot of people are sensible to this.

@DerelictsGame Hope we can can change the Camera shake to "off" because , i have motion sickness problems

@AskharF Yeah, I need to tweak those as they are too fast at the moment. It makes it look unnatural!
