Transaction sharing and budgeting web app called Penelope! My main goal is to help people know how much money people owe them without the awkward feeling of needing to ask for it back.
Check it out when you have a minute :) penelope.dgrim.dev
I will be testing out your app more🚀
I saw an interesting thread today that said X is for founders finding other founders that are marketing , building and progressing yet most of these founders are mainly trying to get that first customer and not just founders opinions.
Regardless , the advice from technical people that you can get on here in your early days will go a loooong way AND if your product can help founders , even better!
Happy Friday !
Build in public lied to me.
When I first shared the idea for ShotSnap, devs loved it.
40 people joined the waitlist. I was pumped.
Then I shipped.
I emailed every single one of them.
Zero replies.
So now I’m asking the real question:
Were they actually interested
or just farming engagement?
Is build in public validating ideas
or just validating tweets?
Most apps lose 80% of users in the first 3 days.
Users decide to stay or delete faster than you think. One of the main reasons is your onboarding.
Here are 8 onboarding tips we use to boost apps retention to 40%+ 👇
Been away for a while enjoying holidays !
Updated my landing page to have more info , going for a super simplistic look.
What do you think? penelope.dgrim.dev
@Dgrimdev i don't think this is a realistic scenario. if you are talking to your target users then most of them want similar things and then you just pick the one that is wanted the most
If you're at $0 MRR right now:
week 1: ship a "one feature" product
— yup, one feature is enough
week 2: DM people on
— Reddit, LinkedIn, X, Instagram (underrated)
week 3: most people won't reply
— keep dm-ing people, don't give up
week 4: find 5-10 people who'll try it
— they will probably sign up, but not use it
week 5: ask them why they don't use it
— they will tell you what is missing
week 6: do updates based on their feedback
— tell them to try again
week 7: DM more people
— keep repeating 2-7 until people pay
i'm on week 24, it works👌
@iamlukethedev I had a user receive an email to confirm signup but it was from supabase and they had no idea what that is and it delayed their sign up process. Fully agree
I’m tired of seeing this.
A random .supabase.co URL on a Google login screen.
Builders, for the love of God, verify your domains.
Users don’t think “oh cool, Supabase.”
They think “this feels sketchy.”
You’re not losing customers because of features.
You’re losing them before they even log in.
It doesn’t take much to fix,
and it quietly kills trust if you don’t.
Ship like you actually want people to trust you.
I believe user feedback is the most important way to find bugs , find what users really want and grow in the right direction.
Are you looking for feedback on your app/service ?
I would love to be a tester and give user feedback to anyone interested.
DM me or reply with what you're bulding :)
