Sharing our computer vision system design for TRON: Ares. We approached these shots from the perspective of the machine. The frame becomes a field of observation. Every pixel is potential information waiting to be interpreted. The process begins by squarepacking the live action plates, dividing the image into a computational lattice. Once the grid exists, the system begins to read. Targets emerge. Motion vectors form. Signals ripple through layers of analysis. Inside these overlays lives the source code of the system itself. Streams of logic, fragments of instruction, the internal language of the machine. At times the imagery dissolves directly into that code, as if the world itself is being rewritten from within. Visual information collapses into structure, then reconstructs again as data. Scanning pulses move across the frame. Timers react. Coordinates lock. Each layer is part of a larger ecosystem of perception, constantly processing, evaluating, and iterating. The goal was maximum detail and living systems. Interfaces that breathe, think, and evolve in real time.

When worlds collide. During an early concept phase for #TronAres, directed by Joachim Rønning, we had a unique opportunity to imagine how the franchise’s iconic light cycle trail would look and behave if it entered the real world.

No matter how tempting it might be to believe certain leaks for franchises we love, don't believe everything you see on the internet.

@TronUserFan They’ve been known to send false leaks even before TRON: Ares was released. I’m very confident all of the leaks are not real.

@DigitizedUser He was gone for months and arrived with sources? I do want to believe🥲🙂‍↕️ But I’ll take them with a grant of salt…Same for the images he send

I think just about all of these are unused. There are a few unreleased tracks from the film that I’m aware of, such as the scene where Julian Dillinger digitizes himself at the end of the film to escape authorities. But I don’t hear anything like that. I think this album only features unused and remix tracks.

Another Tron Ares Scene that Disney cut from the film to keep the 2 hour film covid mandate. This was a scene where Ares and Athena trained together and it was actually shot too. Disney removed at least 30 minutes from this film and it’s sad they haven’t seen the light of day.

@KellytoyDK Honestly, I’m just thankful that the characters weren’t recasted. At least reworking the Dillingers into new characters allows for Cillian Murphy to return in the future if a new project ever happens.

whenever I see early concepts from tron ares I always think it's wild that both dillingers had to be reworked into new characters because the film took too long to make (cillian murphy; actor's strike) and because the film took too long to make (david warner; fucking died)
