@bobepidemiology @nick_coatsworth The GP Clinical School is only a good idea if it has appropriate funding commensurate with rural clinical schools and hospital based clinical schools Otherwise it risks being nothing more than window dressing and creating further silos.

This is a great step forward: a General Practice Clinical School at the University of Sydney. Up to now all clinical schools have been in teaching hospitals. More exposure to GP teachers will encourage more graduates to become GPs. (From medical school newsletter, Radius.)

Aust GP Supervisors have high rates (70%) of burnout. We need to recognize and support these leaders who are vital to any long term GP workforce solution. Simply increasing clinical placements without appropriately resourcing them will not help @RMA22, @AAAPC_ANZ @ANUMedSchool

When health experts announced that the majority of patients in hospital are unvaccinated — but not all — some wrongly felt this supported the theory that vaccination wasn’t effective. Actually, it once again shows how INCREDIBLY EFFECTIVE vaccines are. It’s all about proportions.

The reason why we’re debating schools is because we did not roll out kids vaccination early or quick enough. We also did not have enough RAT. And we were told that “omicron is mild”. As it turns out, Australia is not in the safest place to have millions return to school. 1/
