We’re excited to share that several of our students have artwork featured in the Middle School Lewisville Art Show at the Lewisville Grand Theater! The show kicked off last night February 13th.Thank you Downing families and Dr. Rapp for stopping by and supporting Downing artists.

6th Grade ELA students selected and defended a character trait they believe is most important, sharing thoughtful presentations. Our 6th Grade LEAP students also presented original infographics to 8th Grade LEAP students, highlighting obstacles a country is facing. Go Downing!

🌎🔬 Tectonic Plates Lab in Action! 🔬🌎 In 6th grade science today we explored the powerful forces shaping our planet by modeling different types of tectonic plate boundaries with graham crackers, frosting and fruit rollups.

It takes a whole team to support student success. This Sunday is National School Resource Officer Day (so we are celebrating today a few days earlier) - Thank you Officer Buck!

More to celebrate! What an incredible basketball season! 🏀🏆 We’re ending it strong with two more trophies—our 8th grade boys (1st place) and our 8th grade girls (2nd place). Thank you to all of our athletes, families, and coaches who make all of this possible👏

We’re so proud of Sriveda Bompalli for an amazing showing at the District Spelling Bee this week! 🐝✨ After all her hard work and dedication, truly made Downing proud. Way to go, Sriveda! 💙👏

We are also thankful for our amazing LISD school board visiting our students and staff earlier this week. We are so grateful for their leadership.

So many things to celebrate this week, starting with our PTA. The new classroom iPad charging stations are a lifesaver (hello, dead iPad emergencies 😅), and the delicious staff meal prepared by our families was the perfect way to end the week. Feeling so grateful! 🙌
