Dear @NCAA @MarchMadnessMBB, huge self inflicted economic wound is having the final four on Saturday and Monday. Having games at 5:00 and 8:00 on Friday and then the championship at 4:00 on Sunday would exponentially increase buzz and eyeballs..

Not a scorching take - actually a reasonable take. The format/timing is perfect. I understand the player availability frustration, but hopefully it’s addressed in the next CBA.

One scorching take I have is that baseball got the WBC exactly right and nothing should change. It's pretty much perfect. That was awesome.

Detroit should celebrate Tarik Skubal for not pitching tonight. He chose the Tigers over a poorly organized exhibition. His outing 9 days from now against the Padres is a hell of a lot more important than the WBC. Great decision by the Tigers ace. Bring on the real thing.

@JoakimSzn2 Why can’t we ever just enjoy what is already great? The WBC is amazing BECAUSE of its international involvement. Also - as a fan, great to watch meaningful baseball in March. We already have meaningful baseball in July.

Imagine how much better the WBC would be if there were no restrictions on pitchers and everyone was in midseason form. Makes you wonder if MLB would consider shutting down for a couple of weeks à la NHL for Olympics or similar WBC. A true best on best would be awesome. Next CBA?

The slander from the media and that hack Joe Lunardi is undeserving.
20 years ago St Joe’s got bounced in their first conference tourney game and still got a 1 seed. Now we are talking about a team going 31-1 not even making the tourney! What are we doin!

If Miami Ohio does not make the tournament then you’re telling a lot of teams that their regular seasons mean absolutely nothing. Are they one of the best 68 team? Idk but that 8 seed team who won a few games in their conference tournament isn’t either. You win your conference tournament you’re in, you go undefeated in the regular season you should be in without a question too. They’re much more worthy than a near 500 Auburn team.

WBC reform:
16 teams, 4-team pools, all US venues. Right after All-Star game. International teams arrive early, Japan/US exhibition pre-tourney. Stagger pool play, tiered player pay, best-of-3 final. MLB resumes July 28. Full 2.5 week break

How on earth is “runs allowed” a tie breaker in an actual tournament rather than “run differential”

If the USA loses this game, and then Mexico beats Italy as expected, the tiebreaker is runs allowed. USA is in SERIOUS danger of losing that tiebreaker and being eliminated from the World Baseball Classic in the Group Stage. They need to rally and win this game. #WBC

@realboshek Sounds great - except winner of the pool gets a nice prize money boost and doesn’t have to face Puerto Rico in the quarters.
Winning the pool has massive advantage with being the home team in the bracket side.

Should not even be a debate about 29-0 @MiamiOH_BBall as to whether they should be part of @MarchMadnessMBB if they do not win the MAC tourney -metrics used to define who should qualify as at large teams is one sided & favors MEDIOCRITY from power conferences over EXCELLENCE by mid majors .

Doug Gottlieb took a "shot" at Miami and the RedHawks schedule. He said that he would "feel really good" if Green Bay played Miami. Miami won at Wright State. The Raiders are currently in first place in the Horizon. Green Bay lost twice to Wright State by a combined 36 points.
