Old age is not nice. These nice shiny floor tiles we like so much will need to be replaced one day because they would have become a fall risk factor. Also, we don’t want to have children and spouses, who will take care of us should we live way into old age? Social care system = 0

Q4. No matter what goes on during the day, I wake up at 3:13 a.m. I fall asleep, hours later, something frightens me, my eyes snap open and it's exactly 3:13 a.m. My grandmother told me it's lottery numbers and I should play it. My fiancé, Jason, told me I needed medicine to help me sleep. I don't have health insurance to get a prescription, so Jason got me edibles and relaxation tea to knock me out. It worked well, until, one night, it didn't. On that night, I didn't eat the edible, but I drank the tea. I fell asleep with Jason beside me. Boom! 3:13 a.m., I woke up to muffled hip hop music. I follow the sound to the alley behind our apartment. I look out the window, where I see Jason laid back in the driver's seat of MY car while a woman was furiously giving him h3ad. I shouted his name out the window and he sped off. Jason didn't return that night, so I reported my car stolen. The next day, I took an Uber to visit his mom at the halfway house. I brought her flowers and edibles. His mom went crazy after the edibles and she s3xually assaulted several of the men in the home and was evicted. Jason called and said he wanted to return my car, and he needed a place for his mom to stay while he tried to get her back in a program. Should I let her stay or nah? I miss Jason and maybe keeping his addict mom will make us closer? #SBCCHAT

There are things I resolved long ago I would never fight for. A job is one of them.
I’ve never believed in forcing myself into spaces that require me to prove my right to exist. If I was trusted with the opportunity to contribute, I give my best. And when that season shifts, I leave with the same grace I arrived with.
I pay close attention to the “weather.” Not the obvious storms but the subtle changes. The tone. The energy. These signal that something has moved.That’s usually my cue.
Once the environment changes drastically, it’s not long before it begins to cost you mentally, physically and sometimes even spiritually. And those are prices I’m no longer willing to pay.
So I don’t wait for things to fall apart. I pen that resignation letter, ever so politely. I don’t do this out of weakness. I do it out of self-respect.
And yes, I am conflict-averse. I’ve made peace with that. It simply means I don’t thrive in spaces where I must constantly defend my worth or negotiate my dignity.
There are battles worth fighting. Not every room deserves a war.
PS. I am blessed with an ADHD brain. That on its own is a brutal ongoing war.

@Qshabz11 We went and got Fresca with my friend in primary school. I think it’s the Circus days at the old trade fair. We were so eager to try it and were thoroughly disappointed, since it tasted like Fanta pineapple.
