Russia attacked the energy infrastructure of Odesa region: Vylkove left without power, one injured

Last night, Russia killed and injured Ukrainian civilians again. ▪️ Sumy region: 3 people killed, including a child, and 9 injured. Private houses, vehicles, and civilian infrastructure were damaged. ▪️Zaporizhzhia: 1 person was killed and 3 were injured. A strike destroyed a private house and caused a fire. A 67-year-old woman sustained shrapnel wounds to her limbs, a 71-year-old man suffered an acute stress reaction. An apartment building had broken windows and facade damage. ▪️Kharkiv: A drone hit the facade of an apartment building at the 22nd floor level. The facade fire was quickly extinguished. Approximately 10 windows were broken. No casualties reported. ▪️Odesa region: 1 person was killed and 3 were injured when an Iskander ballistic missile struck an agricultural enterprise in Odesa district.

This photo was taken by me twenty years ago at the cemetery in the village of Sahryn in the Hrubieszów region. In it, you can see the memorial plaque for the Ukrainian Buchko family, who — along with more than a thousand other Ukrainian residents of this village — were massacred in a single night by units of the Polish Home Army (Armia Krajowa) and the Peasant Battalions (Bataliony Chłopskie). They were killed for only one reason — because they were Ukrainians! And every time a new wave of provocations comes from our “neighbors” on the other side of the western border, this photo always stands before my eyes. Just like the fate of my own grandfather Pavlo Kondziura’s family, who were deported from the Kholm region (Chełm Land), where they had lived for hundreds and hundreds of years. The only military force that, without any hesitation, came to the aid of the Ukrainian population in any situation was the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA). A formation that fought against all the occupiers of that time: Russian, German, and Polish. The UPA fighters knew they were on their own land and fought for their own Ukrainian state. That is why the actions of Polish President Nawrocki, who decided to strip V. Zelenskyy of the Order of the White Eagle, should be seen as sabotage and playing on the side of the Russian regime. Nothing else — only that! Instead, we all must realize that our true independence begins, among other things, with us independently deciding who our heroes are and whom we will remember and honor.
