Putin is a weak loser. He just lost his closest European ally. He lost his dictator friends in Venezuela and Syria. His allies in the Iranian theocracy are in tatters. His stooges lost elections in Moldova & Romania. He lost the support of Armenia, and it’s only a matter of time before the Georgian people throw off their corrupt pro Putin regime. He lost his effort to stop NATO expansion, pushing Finland & Sweden into the alliance. He has lost over 1.3 million Russians to battlefield casualties. And now he is losing his war against Ukraine, falling back in many areas & controlling less Ukrainian territory than he did 4 years ago.

On April 13, 2025, the Ukrainian city of Sumy experienced one of the darkest mornings of the full-scale war, when Russia launched two Iskander-M ballistic missiles at the crowded city centre. It was Palm Sunday – a day when many families were out in town. 35 people were killed by Russia and over 120 were injured, including 18 children. Among the victims were an 11-year-old boy and a 17-year-old teenager 🕯 One missile hit the congress centre of Sumy State University. The second struck nearby, close to another university building. It also struck those who had run outside to help the wounded after the first hit. A city bus was caught in the blast, and many passengers died. One year later, we honour the memory of those who were killed and stand with their families in grief. Yet remembrance alone is not enough. Russia continues to target buses, streets, universities, parks, and homes. The world must act – to support Ukraine and to ensure Russia is held responsible for its crimes.

NEW MAP OF LYMAN: Despite an ‘Easter Ceasefire’, (declared by Russia for 11-12 April), Russian forces conducted attacks and small-group infiltrations but achieved no confirmed advances. Drone and artillery activity persisted on both sides. Ukrainian forces continue to leverage superior unmanned systems for interdiction and defensive fires. UKR advances were registered NE of Lyman and also at Yampil. Overall tempo remains attritional, favoring Ukrainian defensive operations in spring conditions.
