🌎 A quick and special shift from our usual geo-target area: The devastation of the #Californiafires, in one video. The animation shows the area of #Altadena before and after the violent #Eatonfire, that destroyed almost 9.000 houses and buildings around the town, burning 14.000 acres. 🗓️ The first #Copernicus #Sentinel2 image captured on January 2 shows the green mountains, while the second, detected on January 12 shows the effect of the violent fires both on the vegetation and in the urban area. @meeosrl #EarthObservation

The Northern Italy industrial tomato production of 2024 dropped by 22.2% compared to the 5 year average due to heavy rains in key months. Autumn and Winter in #Europe in two pictures. The animation shows the #Alps before and after the storm that brought heavy rains over #UK and #snow in #France and #Italy. The two #Copernicus #Sentinel3 images were detected on Nov. 4th and 14th. The first one shows the tipical ‘dragon’ of fog in Northern Italy, due to the high pressure and absence of snow. The second one highlights the whitened mountains.

The catastrophic flash #floods in #Valencia, #Spain from space. The #Copernicus #Sentinel2 images captured on October 26 and 31 show the southern area of Valencia before and after the worst floods in decades. On October 29 the community of Valencia received a year’s worth of rain in just eight hours, with streets as rivers, devastated towns, heavy sediments discharge and a sadly growing number of victims. @meeosrl
