In the Green Deal Going Local working group, I spoke for mountain and rural regions: if the new MFF and NRPPs are designed only in Bucharest or other capitals, they will fail the people delivering the green transition on the ground. We need place-based indicators, guaranteed priorities and funding for mountain and rural territories, and simple access for small municipalities and farmers. Harghita County was heard in Brussels. All my amendments on the €200 billion #GlobalEurope instrument were adopted in CIVEX, with cross-party support. Several proposals I previously put forward in the European Committee of the Regions are now reflected in the EU’s new €86.7 billion Social Climate Fund. The goal was simple: the #GreenTransition must not deepen inequalities. Rural and mountain regions must be part of the solution. The new rules ensure: • consultation with local and regional authorities • territorial planning of climate measures • stronger focus on #EnergyPoverty and transport poverty • support for vulnerable households • encouragement of local #EnergyCommunities A fair climate transition starts with listening to regions. #EU #ClimatePolicy @EPP_CoR

The Black Sea is a shared concern-one that demands our collective attention. We must anchor our priorities in the Sustainable Development Goals. Even in a difficult security context, keeping environmental protection front and centre is essential. @sarirautio

The Black Sea is not a periphery of Europe. It is a strategic region for the security and stability of our Union. We need a stronger protection of critical infrastructure, transparent & secure ports, better energy connections across the region. @borbolycsaba

It ensures national choices reflect real territorial needs, and that implementation is anchored where citizens live and where Europe is felt. @Emil_Boc

It risks centralising and renationalising key policies, which could weaken the role of regions. This could undermine the specific acquis of the EU’s outermost regions @AlbertoCelia
