Today our @EcoxyProject ends after 3 years of hard work. 13 partners from 8 countries 🇪🇺 have worked together to develop #biobased 🌱#recyclable ♻️ composites for the automotive & construction sectors✅. @BBI2020 Project Officer Ana Cuadrado participated in the final conference.

✔️📍Within @EcoxyProject in total 43 components were successfully manufactured at @FraunhoferICT Some were send to the partners. Some were used for characterization 12 were send to CRF for further qualification and testing. #EcoxyFinalConference #GetTheBiocompositeOn

@aimplas "Improving flame retardancy: Similar fire resistance results can be achieved by reducing the flame retardant ratio by 66% using the synergistics effect of graphene oxide or by functionalising the same flame retardant. 🔥Graphene greatly increases viscosity".

@Centexbel Project outcomes increase application field of PLA yarns to high value applications such as reincforcement fibres in composites 🧪

Flipts&Dobbels:"Use of bio-based fabrics with bio-based resins to replace other fibers/resinsis possible, btw, still some issues to optimise for better end results (limits of natural fibers). Further optimalisation of yarns & resins is necessary🌾

@Avantium concludes that Humins is an interesting additive with potential applications for bio-based fibers and resins. During the research in @EcoxyProject , Humins/PLA filaments were succesfully produced at lab and Pilot scale 🧬

@CNRS_DR20: The resins elaboration was optimized allowing to obtain thermoset with large properties. They also synthesized biocomposite with PLA or fibers and were able to produce a second generation of composites ♻️

@SP_Polymers role within @EcoxyProject was to develope biobased counterparts to petrol-based epoxy resins currently used in some application fields, while also developing toolbox of those resins that can bring soft to tough thermomecanichal properties #EcoxyFinalConference

Today is the day. After more than 3 years of research, the @EcoxyProject closes a stage. Our facilities host this morning the #EcoxyFinalConference Congrats to all the partners involved for the results and thanks to the guest speakers who take part in this virtual event
