Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a major cause of death and disability across the world, with road accidents, falls and sporting injuries being the leading causes. New funding is available for research to consider whether administering prehospital blood plasma to patients with suspected isolated severe traumatic brain injury is effective and is more likely to lead to patients returning to a full life.
