If the US had succeeded in Iran, South Africa would have been next. Iran not only defended its humanity, territorial integrity, sovereignty, people, religion, and culture — it also shattered Israel’s plan to instruct Trump to attack South Africa. Figures like Kalie Kriel and Ernst Roets were already imagining themselves as presidents of this country, recognized and backed by the Trump and Netanyahu governments.

The biggest mistake South Africans made was falling for lies about BRICS. None of these countries will help us during military or economic war against America.

@ZZeekhumalo @Mqadi99 The funds were not deposited by error. It was an act of theft where the money was moved into Sibongile’s account, so these situations are different. Please don't claim that students went unfunded because of this.

@RT_com Reverse apartheid is a reality, and it's way worse than apartheid. More than 140 discriminatory laws against whites and 3000 plus white farmers have been killed by blacks in the most gruesome and horrific way possible. Bad things are happening in South Africa.😪😪😪

A member of the Ikhaya Labafundi faith mission says she rejected an opportunity to study medicine in Cuba because of Jesus Christ. Another member rejects the notion that the mission is a cult. The controversial faith-based organisation in Dabangu, KwaMaphumulo, has over 100 members who abandoned their careers, educational pursuits, personal assets, and some even medical treatments, hoping God will provide. @EdS_888 @VeronicaLindel1 We're all in the same boat, you live in slums while you live in shacks. The politicians are eating big here, while the white man is eating big over there. At least, we know the cause of our problems, unlike you who blames the weakest for your troubles. You're not on my level.

During these tough times, motorists' thoughts increasingly turn to electric vehicles. If you're considering it, my top tip would be to buy a used EV. For whatever reason, depreciation on new EVs is massive in SA. A used EV can make a lot of sense, depending on your motoring needs/budget, as after depreciation, the purchase price might match or even undercut a similar fuel-powered car. One topic that always comes up with used EVs is concern about battery life and battery replacement cost, but these concerns are largely unwarranted. Most manufacturers offer 8-year battery warranties (but note - with mileage restrictions); so if you buy a 3-year old EV, you've got 5 years of cover left. But even more comforting, multiple studies have shown that EV batteries easily last 10-12 years, or longer, with minimal degradation. There are many real-world examples of EVs covering over 500,000km on one battery and still going strong. Of course an EV might not suit your lifestyle or motoring needs. SA is a long-distance type of country, and EVs make for great commuter vehicles, especially as a second vehicle in the household. The reality is that owning a car at all in SA is a luxury and owning two might be out of reach for most. In which case, an increasingly appealing option is a PHEV (plug-in hybrid) which could serve you well in a one-car household. They have enough fully-electric range for daily driving, meaning if you charge at home (no special equipment needed, but an inexpensive wallbox running into your DB board will give you faster charges), you can drive about 100km a day or on one charge using no fuel at all (this distance varies from brand to brand and model to model). And then, uniquely, a PHEV offers the option to fill the petrol tank with fuel so you never experience range anxiety, so you can road trip with no worries and no stress about finding charging stations. And the purchase price of PHEVs is coming down all the time which is great news for motorists. Assuming your monthly installment is the same, running an EV day-to-day is vastly cheaper than running a fuel-powered car, even with Eskom doing their best to fleece us, and especially in these uncertain times of massive fuel price increases. Maintenance costs are very low with EVs, however, keep in mind that insurance on an EV can be a bit higher. My long term view is that South Africa is and always will be very vulnerable to oil price shocks and dollar shocks. Sadly we have practically zero working refineries left in SA, a situation which is unlikely to change. We will have to import fuel products far into the future. With that in mind, an EV might be a way to shield yourself from these shocks. I would personally buy a used EV without many concerns. I find myself on the @CarsSouthAfrica app browsing all the time! If you'd like any advice on buying an EV, drop a reply and I'll do my best to help.
