A Port Authority fire truck, Truck 1, is dispatched to respond. At the same time, Air Canada Express Flight 8646, a Jazz Aviation Bombardier CRJ-900 operating from Montreal Trudeau International Airport, is on final approach to Runway 4. The lone controller on duty, simultaneously managing both ground and tower operations, clears Truck 1 to cross the runway. Seconds later, as Flight 8646 is landing at between 93 and 105 miles per hour, he realises his mistake. He calls for the truck to stop. Over and over. It is too late. The CRJ-900 strikes the fire truck on Runway 4. The impact destroys the cockpit and tears open the front fuselage. Both pilots are killed. A Delta flight on approach is sent around. Jazz 646 comes to rest on the runway, its nose elevated, its cockpit gone. LaGuardia closes entirely. 72 passengers and four crew members were on board. 41 people are taken to hospital. The fire truck had been sent to help one emergency. It became another. Taxista de la CDMX encara a Guardia Nacional en el aeropuerto, no lo dejaron recoger a su hija, porque llego en taxi rotulado de la CDMX. Ahora resulta que tampoco puedes hacer eso... 👇 ¿Que opinas?

@ruby_canela @RaulGtzNR En ningún estado está prohibido usar un taxi como uso personal. En el aeropuerto un taxi no puede recoger pasaje, pero, la persona no es pasaje ya que no paga, es un familiar. Y en todos los aeropuertos te dejan recoger en taxi mientras demuestres que son familiares 🙄
